Lakes of Bellevue management are very courteous, until you need something done, or you ask them about one of their many hidden fees/policies. When we moved in at the referral of a friend, they refused to pay our friend the advertised referral bonus due to a technicality. Our apartment accumulated over 10 wasps nests on our landing during the summer. After requesting for two weeks that someone be sent to spray the wasps, to no response, we were fed up with coming home to wasps crawling all over our door, so we went out and purchased bug spray and took care of it ourselves. The same is true of the mandatory garbage service: there were several days when, despite leaving our garbage outside at the specified time, our trash was not picked up, and we had to do ourselves what we had been required to pay them to do for us. There is no sidewalk in the complex, which makes walking/running along the poorly-lit, frequently-speed-bumped, covered-in-goose-poop roads dangerous at night.\r The apartment was poorly constructed, and when we moved in there were nails sticking out of child-level fixtures, hair painted to the walls, and holes in the hollow (and thus poorly insulating) interior doors. Our neighbors reported similar shoddy and dangerous construction. When we moved out, we failed to cancel our electricity service (the paperwork we signed when we moved in stated that if we canceled electricity during our lease term, we would be fined several hundred dollars, and thus we mistakenly assumed that they would call to transfer service once we moved out), and as a result had to pay nearly $100 for electricity which we did not use. The management refused to compromise with us on this and other issues. We have moved out, and are now much happier in a larger, cheaper, safer place.\r more
