I live in San Diego but booked a hotel on Hotwire so I would have a shorter cab ride to a birthday shindig in the area. We got to the hotel around 5:30 and I thought the exterior and lobby was really nice. The front desk lady was very nice, and when I asked if they had any free upgrades available she surprisingly said 'I'm sure we do'! We scored a Suite, and even though we were only going to really be there to sleep it was nice to have since ya know, it was free.\r
The room was really clean, AC worked well, and the bed was super comfortable. Another plus was I called down and asked for a late checkout and was granted one at no extra cost, because I knew it was going to be a late night. It happens.\r
One more plus were was that the housekeeping didn't come back every half hour knocking to see if we were still there, which seems to happen to me whenever I stay at a hotel. They didn't knock once, SO nice
