Don't bother joining this gym -- there are many others that are close by which have better equipment and actually want to be a high caliber GYM. \r

First of all, the gym is adequate at best. The new owners tried to ""spruce"" it up, but all they did was take a layer of filth off the equipment, change some pads, add a tanning area, and increase the price. They haven't brought in any new equipment or even gotten better versions of the stuff they have now. The place doesn't have enough or the right type of equipment -- and to prioritize a tanning area over new equipment speaks volumes. \r

Second, and more disturbing, is that the new owners obviously have no morals or ethics. They have the audacity to close the gym on a Monday to say they are ""fixing"" the HVAC and air conditioning. Who closes a GYM on a Monday, the busiest day of the week? You do that on a Sunday night like every other smart gym. Then, when you walk by and see all of the lights, cameras, and support crew, it is pretty obvious that they are filming a movie which a gym representative actually confirmed when confronted. (And are they really going to shoot a movie when they don't have A/C on a day when it is going to be 90+ degrees and the lights will only make it hotter?). To shut down the gym on a MONDAY to shoot a movie means they don't care about the people who paid for the gym and want to use it as a GYM. The owners obviously care more about creating a buzz/scene rather than having a place where people can workout. On top of that, to blatantly lie about it shows a complete lack of ethics and the type of business people they are. \r

If you want a better gym where people care about working out -- go to Equinox a couple of blocks away. If you want a better scene then go to David Barton. Either way, VEBO is a second tier at best and there are much better options.
