Despite hearing about one of our friends getting food poisoning there a few years ago, we gave Sugar Reef the benefit of the doubt and went there figuring the chef had been fired and the quality had improved. That night my husband,myself and our 4 year old son were all almost admitted to the hospital because of food poisoning. I was horrified. I suppose it was our own fault but on top of being sick for 3 days and having to miss work, the bill was outrageous for poor quality seafood which I am sure was frozen. The service is snooty and an 18% gratuity is included in the bill regardless if you were satisfied with the service or not. so all in all, bad food, bad service, the owners who are there most of the time are extremely snooty and uninterested in their customers. I would have been better off getting a slice of pizza a few doors down with the same beach view.\r

beware of hyped ratings of this place, its not all that it is cracked up to be.
