They need to improve their customer service. I read Burnice F.'s review and wanted to chime in here. I have mixed feelings about the Curtain Exchange. I thought they were very friendly when they initally tried to help me and ultimately I placed a custom order with them summer 2011. However, the problems began after my order was placed. The estimate given was off by several hundred dollars, which when you are spending that kind of money may not matter to some but to me as a new home owner with many expenses and projects it mattered... The drapes were not ready in the time frame given. I had to follow up with them for weeks. They were not pro-active in following up with me to give me a status update on my order or reset my expectations. I was told my order would take 3 weeks and that turned into almost 3 months... I had also asked for a quote on custom shams to match my drapes which I never received. When I reached out to management to suggest that their customer service could be improved, I received a lengthy email back from one of the owners defending how and why they do things vs. accepting that the customer, me, was not happy and apologizing and simply working to make the experience better. Ultimately my drapes turned out stunning (once I received them) but I am working through other vendor now to complete the window dressings for the other rooms of my new home. Ultimately, they didn't earn my business the 2nd time not because of quality in product but because of quality of customer service. There are many other businesses out there that will go above and beyond to satisfy the customer, especially in this economy. I so wish my Curtain Exchange experience had been one I could write about positively.... more
