My wife and I recently stayed at this hotel for four nights. We had a room on the top floor (6th floor) on the Amedeo Modigliani themed floor. The room was spacious, especially by San Francisco standards. The bed exceeded our expectations and we always slept comfortably. We had visited about 14 years ago when we were dating and I thought that $85 was a steep price back then. But, it is well worth the $140 plus per night rate. We enjoyed our breakfast immensely. The ambiance was genteel, without the stuffiness. And, the food, especially the french toast, was superb. The service was also extraordinary for a hotel in this ""class.""I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to be close to Union Square without any of the major drawbacks.
