I bought a 2010 Hyundai Elantra last week from Wilde Honda in Waukesha. I test drove the car and things seemed to work fine. The price was great and the Carfax showed normal maintenance was performed on the car. While driving home in stop and go traffic, I noticed the transmission seemed to be slipping. I returned to the dealership that night and voiced my concern to the used car manager. He stated that it might be because the car had been on the lot for a number of months, and to take it to a Hyundai dealership to have it checked out. The Hyundai dealership checked the car out and sure enough, the transmission needed to be replaced (thankfully it was covered under the warranty). After learning this I returned to Wilde Honda and spoke with the manager. He offered to buy the car back at the full purchase price if I wasnâ??t happy with it and paid for a new keyless entry system (it was sold without the keyless entry). Iâ??m keeping the car because everything is working fine now. It was nice to see that they were willing to work with me to remedy the situation, but this car should never have left the lot with a bad transmission.
