I enrolled my kids into this Karate 6/4/2012

I enrolled my kids into this Karate Dojo (11503 E Loop 1604 N Ste 107, Universal City, TX 78148 ) an after school program, it seems that every week was another hidden fee that was unexpected. \r \r You have to pay for their clothing, gear, have the uniform altered (out of your pocket), patches and then there paying for testing per stripe. I can understand paying for a new belt, but for a piece of electric tape on their belt, really. Every time I would picked my children they told me they had been bullied, and they never wanted to return to the dojo.\r \r My kids didnâ??t like this dojo at all. My kids learned more about video games then karate and they were never excited to be there, like they were for Taekwondo. To which my children enjoyed very much and excelled very well. When I would speak to the staff, they like to make it seem like it was your fault. \r \r Their customer service skills are lacking and they do not empathize at all with children with special needs. (Again blaming the parent for poor parenting or letting you child run away from their problems) Also the adults are never in the same room as your kids are and it was pretty clear to me that he wasn t being watched. When the adult get frustrated with the kids they tell them to â??SHUT UPâ?? is very disrespectful and I myself donâ??t even tell my children this.\r \r My kidâ??s clothes would come up missing and other items as well. I wanted to remove my children from their program and I was told I signed a year contract. I told them my kids donâ??t feel safe in their facilities and that they always felt bullied. They couldn t keep up with what I owed and always had problem with their billing department. They also charge you for two weeks while they are closed during the Christmas Holiday. \r \r That seems unfair to me because the kids are off during that time and parent still have to work. They must be making some profit during that time since none of the kids are there for two weeks and they are still taking everyone payment. However, on post the youth center doesn t not make you sign a year contract nor do they close for 2 weeks and charge you. I know now, to ask for more information such as\r How much is the total cost to join this program? Is there a contract? If there a trail period in case my child doesnâ??t like it?\r Can I cancel anytime?\r What are you rates for testing for a new belt? \r How many kids are there in a class?\r If I paid for a uniform to fit, why did I receive a bigger one that I had no choice to pay for alteration? \r When the kids are out of school why charge additional to have them at the Dojo, when they bring their own food, snacks and drink? \r How are they able to stay in business after ripping so many military family members off?\r I advice to do your research and stay away from this Dojo as an afterschool program, because you better off to keep the kids at the Y or Youth Center on post.\r \r Frustrated parent more
