I had routine maintenance done on my AC. I was told I needed to replace the condenser (outside) fan motor. They wanted me to replace my out-dated system, and I probably should have but didn't want to spend the money yet. They quoted $900 to replace the motor. I did it myself for $130 (new aftermarket parts). I had never done it before, but it is not a difficult thing to do. I would estimate that 100% markup on the parts plus $100 for service call plus $200 for labor should be an absolute maximum (high estimate) total of $560. With OEM parts (not necessary for this old a unit) maybe $760?
