Maybe rocketeer had a bad batch/day, i have been coming to Ferdi's for almost 5 years now, had a few of their other dishes, but always come back to the gumbo, it is pretty tasty, and Tom spices it up for me just right. The Tom's Pasta is real good also, but 9 times out of 10, i get the large gumbo with shrimp, very good, if you know your gumbos, it is a roux only gumbo, not fil'e, not okra, just plain old good roux. Chicken, sausage, and shrimp with a few bell peppers and onions and celery, awsome.
