On 5/3/2012 I arrived at the store and I was the only person in the store besides the worker. I put 4 large bags of tobacco on the counter and went back to get 10 boxes of filter tubes. I told the worker, a young girl, that there was someone at the Drive Thru. She replied that the Drive Thru would have to wait because she had to watch the store for shoplifting. She was rude to me the entire time I was in the store, which was less than five minutes. I was the only customer in the store. After getting the 10 boxes of filter tubes and placing them on the counter, she started ringing everything up. I handed her 6 coupons (4 for $1 off instant coupons that I pulled off the bags of tobacco and 2 for $.50 off). She took three of them and informed me that she could only take three coupons per transaction. I said that I would pay for some of the items seperately so I could use my coupons. She then informed me that she could not void the register because her manager would think she was stealing. I told her to do it anyway and I would split the order. She said she could not do that. I was hot and did not want to go to another store, so I said fine. (My costs was over $84.00) She told me I did not have to get smart with her which I did not in any way and I told her I was not being smart with her. I handed her my debit card to pay for the transaction and when she handed it back, she smirked ""You don't have to snatch it"" Again I informed her that I did not snatch it from her, at the time I was using my own cloth bags and I was putting my paid for merchandise in my bags myself. She handed me the receipt and I started to put it in my pocket and she smirked ""You have to sign that"". I signed it and gently handed it back to her and got a receipt for my records. By the time I had come back to the counter with my filter tubes, there were other people in the store and they were looking at this girl like she was crazy. I will not spend anymore money in this store and was so frustrated by the time I actually left the store my blood pressure skyrocketed. This whole ordeal was completely uncalled for and this girl needs to learn what customer service is and common decency, because there are too many people that would love to have her job. I was basically accused of shoplifting and the girl had a terrible attitude to be working in retail. I have been in this store at least twice a month for over two years and have always had excellent customer service until 5/3/2012. I usually spend between $80.00 and $100.00 per visit. This store will not get any more of my money and that girl needs to be fired. The world is not a safe place and it is unwise to treat people you do not know that way especially when you are a cashier in a Drive Thru store. There are many Discount Tobacco Stores on Gallatin Road alone that would be grateful to get my business and now they will. It does not matter if you spend $1.00 or $100.00, a custumer should be treated well. I would have understood it if I had been rude to her at any time while I was in the store. I give Discount Tobacco Outlet Inc, in Madison a rating of negative 5 stars.
