The star of the menu is their Angel Wings. Two jumbo chicken wings, deboned and stuffed with minced chicken, herbs, vegetables, coated in Panko and deep fried. The complexity and utter uniqueness of this dish gives you a reason to drive out of your way.
Over the last few years I have have tried nearly the entire menu entrees / curries / noodle dishes / soups / appetizers. The various cooks have changed over that time as well as the food quality.
As with most far east dinging the dishes come in a spiciness of 1 to 5. Since I desire heat extreme I usually go for Native Thai Hot which can be variable depending on the restaurant. The thing that stands out, if you know spicy is that the oils build the heat factor higher and higher as you consume your dish. This tends to leave you enjoying the heat level beginning but feeling the burn by the end of the meal. Not so with the Green Papaya's food.
If it wasn't for the fact this restaurant was in a strip mall and had minimal decor, might doubt the possibilities of their food. There is only two fancy Thai restaurants in Reno, Green Papaya is not one of them. While the atmosphere is semi-ok the food is usually above average.
I have been to all the Thai restaurants in Reno, as Thai is my favorite by a long-shot so I know my Thai food.
