I went to Pearl's Place because it was the only place in the area where I could order a ball gown that I fell in love with online. I had heard terrible things about this store, but I didn't want to have to drive to another state to purchase my dress. I walked in with a picture of the dress and the style number. At first, no one wanted to talk to me because I was ""not a bride"" and I did not have an appointment. I told the worker that I just needed to order the dress. She told me that they did not have the dress in stock so she was going to take my measurements, which she did. Then, she told me that the dress would be ready in 6-8 weeks. Three months later, I called to check on the status of my dress and no one seemed to remember ordering the dress. I told the person on the phone that my event was in three weeks and that I was concerned about it not fitting. She told me that she would call me the following week, which she did not. When I called again, she told me to stop calling and that she would call me when the dress came in. Finally, three days before the event my dress came in. I went to pick it up and when I tried it on it was two sizes too big and fell right off of me. The worker told me that it would need to be altered, but that there were seven brides who needed alterations so they would not be able to assist me. Funny that the alterations are supposed to be free. I had a personal seamstress make the alterations and I sent the bill to Pearl's Place, which obviously they through in the trash. I did it more for principle and not because I was expecting reimbursement. I was treated terrible because my $600 dress was not a ""bridal gown!"" What sucks even more is that I paid in full at the beginning to ensure my order would be placed and delivered on time. I also contacted the BBB because this business is terrible. They don't care about the people. They only care about the sale. Save yourself the stress and definitely shop elsewhere!
