I took my 1979 For Bronco there for inspection. After dropping it off a day later I got a phone call telling me that the exhaust need replaced from the catalytic converter, the shocks were ""ify"" and the windshield washer was not spraying on the hood properly. I asked what was need to pass inspection and they told me everything so I requested a quote and explained I wanted the cheapest alternative since I would be selling the vehicle and will not be able to get that much for it in resale. They called me telling me they could not easily find the parts and I should just sell the vehicle without inspection since the cost would be too high. It was like pulling teeth to get a quote from them asking. After hanging up the phone with them I had found the shocks for $32 a piece. I called them back and was told it will be more expensive since they have to mark up the price of my parts and they would add the cost of anytime spent looking for parts they still did not look for my exhaust anywhere (Not even the junk yard near by). I called another local auto repair shop and spent five minutes on the phone and was told I can order my own parts to avoid mark up to save money they called my back in 10 min with a full quote of well under the resale value of the vehicle offering a low markup that would eliminate me from worrying about saving money. When I returned to Don Levy's to pick up the vehicle they failed to inspect and also failed to give a quote on repairs I was asked to pay a bill. When I told them I was displeased the associate talked to his manager. From the other room I could here him say he would not look for ""Classic car parts outside of his neighboring dealers"" he did not even come out and look me in the eye before taking my money. I don't mind paying a bill on a failed inspection if I reject the cost of repairs but when I take my vehicle to an auto shop for inspection I expect any repairs to be done where I took the vehicle OR AT LEAST GIVEN A PRICE!!! Worst experience ever the sad part is the shop was recommended by my neighbor he was disappointed to hear what was done to say the least or should I say not done.
