Roto Rooter Fixed the Clog but... 4/30/2012

I called roto rooter to clear a clog in my kitchen sink. I tried a 25' snake and couldn't reach it. Roto Rooter was out within an hour and got to work. They used their 50' snake and removed a lint ball 45' down the line. The worker was very clean and used covers on his shoes while walking through the house. Also, he gave suggestions on things to do to help avoid the situation in the future. When he left, I placed a bucket under the sink trap just in case it leaked again. I'm sure glad I did, today I pulled the bucket out and there was water and curdled milk in it. I went and checked and the worker had not tightened the collars on the trap. This caused a slow leak. The problem was easily fixed by tightening the collar on the pipe, however, this could have been a very smelly and wet issue in our basement below if we had not caught it. All in all, the Roto did a good job on the clog, but made a slip up on the drain. We all make mistakes and I'm sure it's not a regular occurrence. Jim more
