I took my vehicle to Mike's because my engine light was on. They told me I needed a new catalytic converter. They put in a (supposedly) new converter, charged me $2,000 dollars and sent me on my way. On my way home I noticed the engine light was still on. I took it back to Mike's and they said for me to keep driving it and it would resolve. Over the course of a month I took it back three times and they told me the same thing. It was never resolved. When I took it to a new mechanic for the inspection, less than one year later, it would not pass. This new place said that I needed a new catalytic converter. They took the old one out that Mike's had installed and they said it was extremely old, rusted and hollowed out. They showed me what it was supposed to look like and they put the new one in for $700. The problem was then completely resolved by the new company. In short, Mike's put in a old botched part and charged me $2000. If I had the proper documention and proof I would be taking further action. more
