bad place and bad business 4/24/2012

There are two reasons NOT to go here:\r 1. Not a good gym. I did not use it-- the machines were on top of each other and the weights were in a small area and too many people waiting for their turn. I went once in three month (although they charged me almost 6 months b/c of their bad business practice)\r .2. Bad Business: They try to send you to collections for any reason to collect money-- and their notice is ONE LETTER (a first and FINAL notice) and EIGHT DAYS before they say they wil send you to collections. Also, they charge you 150% of what they claim you owe them. I hope they go out of business.\r \r Here's the story: My friend got me a 3 mo membership. I did not like the place. So this gym was NOT for me. But worse than the gym being non-workout friendly, they TRIED TO SEND COLLECTIONS AFTER ME!\r \r Like I said, I recieved ONE LETTER from them, and it was 6 months after my friend signed me up. That letter said it was a final notice (huh? ONLY NOTICE) and I had to pay them 150% of the membership WITHIN 8 DAYS or they were going to send me to collections!!! \r \r Are you kidding?\r \r My friend said that they ignored her specific request that this was a 3 month membership. She then disputed the fourth month charge on her credit card. Snap should have taken the dispute in the formal credit card process but they decided to have collections involved instead AND add money to the bill!! How evil. \r \r It's like XM radio. Don't subscribe because of the horror stories about getting out of the contract. Maybe they are just after anyone for any penny, and if they are, don't give them one red cent. How unethical.\r \r I hear there is another gym opening up next to the library with a pool. I don't care how much that one costs, if they are ethical, I'll go there instead. \r more
