this golf course was founded by Humble for its employees, but later fell into the wrong hands
a great layout on the bayou with no initial competion in the area
this course failed after coming under the control of a small group of regressive Pasadena rednecks and a golf ""pro"" (with a fabricated past) who thought he owned it and could pass it onto his children, also failed would-be professional golfers
despite the beautiful layout and unlimited potential, the ""club"" excluded blacks, women and other minorities from membership long after the rest of the world woke up
by the time the course was opened to the public, it was too late. it could not recover from an unwelcoming reputation in the face of new (customer friendly) competition
a very sad loss of a potentially great course
