We have been using The Kensington since it opened in late August. My sister has early onset Alzheimers so I looked at a few facilities to find the perfect fit. I went to look while it was under construction, and it has a beautiful layout. My other sister and I decided it would be perfect for my sister and moved her in in early September.
We found it to be a really fantastic place. Everyone who works there bends over backwards to make everything wonderful for you. If there are any problems they immediately take care of them. For instance, the bathroom sink was not wheelchair accessible for my sister so they fixed it literally immediately.
If you go and say something they take care of it right away, no struggle. The staff are fantastic-so caring and attentive and respectful. They have phenomenal carrot cake and a great chef.
It's a wonderful place, a lot going on, very alive. There is lots of music and activities. It's a continuous stream of wonderful events and decorations for the holidays and they represent all holidays and cultures. They are really trying to make it the way they describe it-as if you are in someone's home that is very warm and welcoming. Some people even have dogs and people come and walk them-it is honestly great.
They keep families connected at the Kensington and they have facilities from salons to churches to synagogues to stores.
