A true izakaya place! They have an extensive dinner menu, and bento box lunch specials. The real treat here, though, is the specials menu written in chalk (in English and Japanese) that spans the length of the restaurant. Everything is authentic and made here. They even import water from Japan to prepare the hiyayakko (tofu appetizer). They have incredible attention to detail. A meal here does not need to be expensive- pick and choose from the specials, perfectly portioned for two. From the moment you enter, with a hearty "welcome" from the proprietor, you are in for a unique experience for South Florida.
