If I could give ZERO STARS, I absolutely would. I normally don't give reviews, but this place was so horribly unprofessional I simply had to. I actually visited this.....establishment....tonight for my cat who suffered an injured leg. I wasn't sure if he had a hurt muscle or if it was something more structural so the ER (it was after hours) was my only option. Upon walking in to the waiting room (which had 4 cats running around, jumping on all of the counters and dogs whining in the background) I was greeted by one of the assistants. She was friendly enough and informed me that the initial consultation would cost $85 (as to be expected) and then any other charges would be discussed before the fact. Simple enough. My mother and I checked in my cat and were taken into one of the rooms. After stating his let was hurt, she picked him up by the back of the neck and proceeded to smash his leg into her so she could hold him up. Uhm, hellooo? 14 year old cat with an injured leg? You -might- not want to pick him up like that...
Anyhow, I left the room while my mother stayed in and spoke with the doctor (I'm a total pansy when it comes to my cat crying in pain, so I had to leave the room for a moment and busied myself with filling out their paperwork). The ""Doctor"" quickly left the room and without realizing I was in the waiting room, and proceeded to talk about my mother to her assistant quite audibly. She was incredibly disrespectful and said ""WELL! She said she has no money already so I don't know what I'm supposed to do."" and carried on talking about ""Pueblo is just so cheap! I always have this problem.""
Well, no. Not quite....sweetie. What she said was that we weren't going to pay the $600 suggested to hospitalize him, inject him with pain killers, muscle relaxers and antibiotics, put him under anesthesia so you could xray him.....etc ALL before you even bothered to LOOK at his leg.
I wouldn't even allow that kind of junk to go into MY body, let alone an older cat. Obviously, she's concerned with the money first off. Her website is an absolute joke, talking about compassion, etc. She wants as much money as she can get out of people that are in an emotional situation. Nowhere in this entire situation was there any compassion for my cat, my mother or myself.
When I confronted her about so rudely talking about my mom (I yelled down the hallway, ""I CAN HEAR YOU TALKING -insertwordhere-!"" her assistant poked her head out and said she was sorry. At no point did the doctor come out and say she was sorry for being so rude and unprofessional. At no point thereafter did the doctor come out to give us a final consultation, say goodbye....nothing. The assistant was our contact from there on out. We opted for pain killer and anti-inflammatory since it wasn't life threatening and are taking him to a REAL VET in the morning. I will NEVER go to this place again and strongly suggest you think otherwise. The website states that they're the leading animal ER in Pueblo.
...Uhm...duh? They're the only ones listed.
This office is a complete joke. The doctor is a complete joke. And I plan on taking this up with her licensing board, all online ratings, the chamber of commerce (of which I am a long-time member) and the paper. I'm surprised she is still in business, quite frankly.
BEWARE!
