I have been going to this eye center for the last 5 years, my first experience with them was great, but the last couple time have been awful! I scheduled an eye exam and showed up 10 min early. I had my 2 young children with me, they have a small play area which is wonderful. They took me back about 30 min after I got there so my kids and I were waiting for the dr after the assistant did all of the pre exam things, the dr never came! We waited for 1 hour in the exam room, my children at this time were restless ( a 2 yr old and a 6 yr old,) so I went out to the front desk and asked how much longer ( again, I had been asking probably ever 20 min). And she just kept saying it should be soon, so then I waited in the waiting room so my kids could at least play with something. I had dilated eyes in the waiting room and after waiting 90 min I said if he couldent see me now I would have to get my kids home and I would have to schedule for another time! Her response was that I should have expected that an eye exam would take anywhere from 2 to 3 hours! I said "" it takes 2 hours to even be seen?!"". She was not even sorry in the slightest, more defensive than sorry! I have been getting eye exams for over 18 years and I have never had an exam that takes more than 1 hr including wait time and checkout!! I was still not seen by the dr! I rescheduled and when I went back it took about an hour, even without all of the pre exam things, because they had done that the last time I was in. When I went to pay and order contacts I found out that It had not been 2 years since my last order so my insurance would not cover it, so I paid out of pocket for the entire thing, including exam! I ordered only 6 boxes of contacts and would order the 2 years worth in 6 months when insurance would cover it, this is what they suggested to me. Sounds like a good plan right?! So I went back to pick up the 6 boxes of contacts a few weeks later, they couldent find them! So I had to find my recipt, luckily I did because when I inspected the recipt I found that they over charged me $80 for ""optimapping"" that I declined! The dr used drops to dilate my eyes, not the ""opti mapping"" that they suggested. So the dr didnt even use it but they charged me for it!
So now, 6 months later I call to order the 2 years of contacts that they suggested I do, the receptionist transferred me to a technician who didn't answer the phone so it sent me to an answering machine. When the technician called me back about an hour and a half later she says that she can only order 1 year for me at a time because then my prescription would expire! I explain that my insurance would not cover anything for my second order in a year because it will only cover one order every 2 years and that they suggested I order 2 years worth at this time! And she just starts to rudley say that she just does what they say she can do and I would have to talk to the receptionist about it ( wich is who I called in the first place!) but that they were on lunch right now so there is nothing she can do for me and the dr is on vacation..... So now I'm asking for my prescription so I can order from someone else, she says that the dr has to sign it so I have to wait for him to get back from vacation! Even though it has been 6 months and I had already ordered contacts from this very prescription!!! Wow........ Time to find a new eye dr!
