SOFA U LOATHE! BUYER BEWARE! THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DONE BUSINESS WITH! BAIT AND SWITCH BETWEEN FLOOR SAMPLE AND FINISHED PRODUCT. Would like to hear from the numerous other r individuals that have had poor experiences with this company.
I don't write reviews very often, especially not negative reviews, but feel compelled to warn others of the difficulties, poor quality product and poor service that Sofa U Love provides its clients.
I originally ordered a custom sectional from this company for $3257,00. I have a cancelled check for $1200 and paid the remainder via credit card. Upon delivery in October 2011, there were numerous issues (not made according to specifications, poor cushion quality, used sofa feet, wrong sofa back) etc.. Too numerous to list. Tried to refuse delivery, however, current company owner ""Vic"" assured me over the phone that he would make me happy or provide a complete refund.
Replacement sofa - Went back into store, spent another 2 hours picking a stock model straight off the floor, since it was clear to me (and company employees told me) that regardless of what this company advertises, they DO NOT customize sofas very well. Order Sofa #2 for $1908.56. Still owed $1348.44.
11/11/11 - replacement sofa delivered. Wrong cushions, damaged feet, no pillows, rips and tears in bottom of sofa. Sofa HARD AS A ROCK. Can not believe any company would let this product go out the door for delivery. Deliveryman get into a screaming match in my living room with Christine, the Hermosa store person regarding order mistakes, and refuse to take merchandise back with them. They also remove the FIRST sofa.
Spend another 30 days trying to reach the owner, leaving messages etc.. to discuss product situation and resolve. Vic is NEVER available and does not return calls. Finally, contact Chase bank, explain the situation and request that at least the $1795 be disputed. Fully understand the check amount of $1200 is gone, unless I sue this company. Dispute charge. Once I disputed the charge, Vic finally called me back with threatening voice mail regarding my claims to the credit card company.
Sofa U Love lied to the credit card company and told them that I never paid them a $1200 deposit (I have a cancelled check). They clam that they provided a great product.
SInce that time, I have had another sofa company review the sofa that was delivered and to provide an estimate for repairing the product. They said that this sofa was poor quality and appeared to be comprised of parts that were manufactured in China and put together in the US to claim ""made locally.""
Advice to others - something is wrong with this business. Review Yelp! reviews from other locations- this company has a history of harassment towards its unsatisfied clients and does provide good service to its customers. There are numerous complaints and hidden reviews. Be skeptical of the positive reviews. GIve your business to a company that will appreciate it and provide you with a quality product. and will be willing to refund your money if you are not happy.
