I've been to Oki's a number of times over the last 10 years but after my last meal there I think that's it unless they fix things. It's sad that it was at one point the best Japanese Steakhouse in R.I.
Walking into Oki's it was dirty, dark and dismal. We ordered hibachi and everything was dirty. The lighting is horrible, I think they may have had someone from the Cadillac Lounge set it up for them.
The hibachi had a big patch of food (rice I think) from the last group still stuck in the middle of the grill. Even the plates had a sheen of grease from the grill and when one of our party asked for a clean plate the waitress swapped it with another grease covered plate from the empty seat next to me. They didn't bother to even get the water marks off of the utensils.
The food was mostly average: I ordered the Chicken and Scallop combination plate and although the Scallops were well cooked the chef managed to divide the it between 3 people by giving one person over 50% of it. He also managed to overcook the chicken and while doing so consistently splattered me with grease from the grill.
The one thing that I have to say I was impressed by was the mustard sauce, it's one of the best I've ever had but didn't make up for the rest of the meal. To top it off the cost of a meal is very expensive and I would expect a much better meal for the over $30 a person we paid.
