An energy audit firm recommended its contractor sweep my chimney. I chose instead American C & M based on their high ratings. The appointment was to sweep--and only charged a minimal inspection fee since my chimney did not need cleaning. Months later they repaired cracked masonry and while here inspected the chimney to discover the mortar had crumbled (after 60 years), supplying close-up pictures taken while on the roof to show the problems. They also quoted several options for a chimney cap. Without American I would have wasted $$ on a needless sweep and had chimney bricks falling on my head.
