I have lived in several apartment communities and Breckenridge is the worst. The staff is picky and unfair. I pay $18 a month for my dog. I was standing outside talking to my neighbor and decided to tie up my dog (beagle) on the balcony so she can run around a little. Mind you I was standing maybe 10 feet from her as she walked around on her leach in front of my balcony. I get a call from my husband that the office called him at work to tell him we need to remove the dog from the balcony. As I am hanging up with him the maintenance man drives up and says ""ma'am you need to remove your dog from the balcony?. Thinking nothing of it I go and remove her from the balcony. When I get in the house I realized I had a missed call from the office. I returned the call and the lady in the office states I cannot have the dog tied up on the balcony. I inform her she had been in her cage all day and I was standing outside so instead of making her sit still while I talk to my neighbor I decided to chain her up and let her walk in front of the balcony. I thought that was going to be the end of it. I come home the next day and my neighbor tells me the maintenance man approached him to tell him he needs to inform my family if we want to chain our dog up on a balcony we need to move to section 8 apartments. I could not believe what I was hearing. So what is he saying because I am black and let my dog walk in front of my balcony I am poor and therefore do not have a right to live in this complex? And what is he saying about people who have to have section 8? I get up and go to work every day. That is what chains are for to allow your pet to move freely outside. I do not recommend anyone rent at this location. The maintenance man does not work on the weekend but he is up early Saturday?s and Sunday?s riding around in his maintenance vehicle looking around to find things to report on Monday. I was walking my dog one weekend and he drives up to me and say ma?am do you allow your dog to poop here (talking about the grass). I say ?yes? and show him the bag I was holding in my hand that he could clearly see. I then said ?I also pick it up; this is why I have a poop bag in my hand?. I was thinking you have to be kidding me! They are not pet friendly at all. What does he want me to do let her poop on the concrete? Or better yet do I belong in a section 8 apartment because I take my dog outside to poop?
