This salon is disingenuous, deceptive 3/19/2012

This salon is disingenuous, deceptive and artificial. I got my hair cut, by Victor, for 1.5 years. The first year I was impressed with him and his salon, but the last two visits were terrible and truly reflective of his nature and his business. The two visits were BIG disappointments. Over the course of time I visited Victor, he did not call me by my name or remember details about me or my hair. I have beautiful hair, and every visit he would tell me I needed to do some treatment, like a color, clarifying and/or conditioning with color. I refused each time and got fed up the last two visits. It always felt like the receptionist, Neptune, and Victor were used-car salesmen whose main objectives were to sell products. I have a healthy self-esteem and did not fall for their ""opinions"" about my hair. This was the first salon, in my entire life, where a stylist advised me to color my hair. Usually, stylists are strongly against me coloring my brown hair with natural blonde highlights. Think about it ladies - This salon feeds off of low self-esteems of women with insecurities. This salon makes money by constant maintenance. Don't fall for their scams! Also, Victor was upset when I requested a blowdry because he insisted he is unable to do a haircut without flat ironing, but that is because he is really not an artist or a skilled stylist. I have lived in Beverly Hills where salons are against flat ironing and feel the skill in cutting is by allowing movement and being truly talented. Flat ironing is considered ""cheating and faking"" cuts. One appointment, Victor arrived to the building 40 minutes late with his coffee and laughed it off. The last visit, Victor hit me on the face with the blow dryer and again, laughed it off. He is very unprofessional and gave me the WORST hair cut last time, which is why I go to Picasso now. I had to get my hair completely redone. Lastly, Victor solicits positive reviews from clients; he asked me to write one. Be careful for what you ask for, but this is the truth. Ladies, don't believe all the other positive reviews!!! Victor promotes his business on Citysearch, Yahoo, Google, etc. Pay close attention to the dates of when the reviews were typed; there is one almost every week, and they're mostly perfect 5s. Most people type negative reviews, after a poor experience, to alert and warn other consumers/customers. Many businesses are faking reviews; it's easy. Also, many businesses have less than 20 reviews, and Victor has over 100. That is extremely suspicious, especially considering someone already responded to my review, and in such a personal manner. more
