Unprofessional! 3/13/2012

I have been a loyal customer to this location for several years. After attempting to order contacts I was told I would need to schedule an appointment because my prescription had expired(they require an eye exam every year even though my prescription has been the same for several years with no actual eye issues and the state only mandates an exam every 2 years). I was down to my last pair of contacts(they had tears even) and they would not help me in any way. I was not going to be able to schedule an appointment until the following week due to work commitments, and was really only needing something to help me get by for a few days. I understand that everyone out there should be getting their annual check ups to insure everything is going okay with their vision, but to not offer me any alternative to wearing a torn contact but to schedule an appointment for an eye exam is ridiculous. A week prior to this incident I was talking to someone who told me about how great their eye care place was and how in a pinch they were helped out by by being given a contact until they could arrange their appointment. This is the kind of service loyal customers deserve in today's market! So, I ordered my contacts over the phone through 1-800-contacts. The customer service representative told me that this Pearle Vision establishment of which I had been loyal for the past several years attached a note to the valid prescription that read: DO NOT FILL. Of course, they did fill it because it it is technically valid. Moral of the story is, Customer service is important. It is even more important to show loyal customers the same kind of loyalty back. I will be looking for a new eye care facility near my home, and will no longer be using Pearle Vision at Skillman. They do not deserve my business. Pros: null Cons: null more
