Mo Money 2/21/2012

After reading all the glowing reviews I almost hate to publish mine, almost. Fact is this happened about six years ago and I'm still upset that I allowed Century Auto in Santa Clarita get over on me the way they did. I had just purchased a 97 one ton pick up for towing. My first run I noticed a hesitation under full throttle. I need a tune up. As I was working long hours, I took the truck to Century Auto and talked with Mo. (based on the customer reviews online) After discussing, Mo agreed I needed a tune up. I asked him for an estimate, he slapped me on the back and said don't worry boss we will take good care of you. (he did) I insisted and Mo agreed to use only OEW parts. That night my wife brought me back and Mo, presented me with a bill for $560.00 stated he had a hard time getting the fuel injectors clean. Parts included plugs and wires. Mo Money handed me a receipt that appeared to never end. It was late, I was upset but paid him. That weekend looking at the engine I saw car-quest labeled wires. Not OEM. Went back to Mo, requested the receipt for the parts. Mo had purchased the lowest quality plug and wire kit carried by car-quest. $46.00 dollars worth. He again started crying about how hard they had to work to clean the fuel injectors. He gave me back $130.00 of the $560.00 bill Yep good old Mo Money. Three years later I was looking to purchase a used mororhome. The sweet little old lady mentioned she had just had the engine rebuilt for $6000.00 dollars. The hair on the back of my neck stood up, I asked who had done the rebuild?. Why that nice young man Mo over on creekside. Not to hurt her feeling I looked at the motorhome a little longer and left. Bottom line I allowed myself to get hosed. Always insist on a written estimate, especially if they say don't worry boss. more
