Becareful when trusting this company with your financials. 2/5/2012

I am a local small business in Oak Park. I hired Mike Pikowski to help me set my business up in QuickBooks, manage my office and filing systems. I hired Mike because he claimed to be more than a data entry person. He touched on all the things that I felt I needed in the initial conversation. I really felt he was the guy that could help me grow my business by keeping everything in my office in order and looking out for my best interests. He was also in the Oak Park area. Things were very rough for the first three months. I found mike to be very unthourough. Things got much better, neater and more organized when he delegated my work to a girl that worked for him. She sporadically quit and Mike was back to my books this is about 9 months in. The last three months mike seemed more and more rushed. I was there trying to think of everything to ask him. He would say he was going to do things and explain things and then not do them. He began being late every apt. Every week was a different day. Finally Mike was late one day. He said 45 min. That turned into two hrs. Then he asked me after three hrs. if I still wanted him to come. I said of course….what time. He said I have no idea. I got upset and told him if he has something better to do why not reschedule. He never showed up instead he sent me an email discontinuing service for me. That week I had many many checks to write people. I reminded him and he said he doesn’t want to stop that so hand write them. Out of all the meeting s and money spent with 911 book keeping or mike pikowski he never generated reports for a property I purchased (he says it simple and its fine but he won’t do it). He left three month’s worth of bank reconciliations for two credit cards on my shoulders. He told me to pay the bill. He didn’t enter the receipts and apply them to the proper category. He spent countless hrs. in my office while I was being trained to use QuickBooks making instructions…he lost the instructions yet he still billed me. I had a line of credit and a checking account. Mike wrote so many checks that my bank account went under and he never told me. 4 checks bounced. Before Mike I never had a check bounce. After all this and this is just part of it….Mike finally came back after I nearly begged him not to leave me hanging like this. I need to transition and get someone else in here. He slaps me with an invoice, he cut the check for himself in my office for going back and reconciling the three months of cc statements that should have been completed before we paid them. In the end Mike will not hold himself accountable. He will defend himself and blame u. I find he is all about the money and not addressing your needs or concerns….careful because he talked the talk with me. He is rushed, unorganized in the office and avoids questions he doesn’t want to answer. He was not consistent in showing up on time and the way he enters things. He has a super long contract he wants you to sign when he gets started. If something goes wrong he will not want to be responsible for it. Then he claims he is not the office manager. It wasn’t until after this happened I found numerous other business people that were affected by 911 book keeping and Mike Pikowski. I’m urging them to come forward since their problems were much more serious than mine are. If you are currently getting work done by Mike….hire someone to do a random audit of different aspects of the business that you feel he is responsible for because if you don’t he is the only one who knows whats what.\r more
