I have been going to this gym for 5 years or so and have watched it deteriorate - I keep thinking I will go one day and see a ""closed for remodeling"" or ""closed for demolition"" sign. Leaky roofs with buckets on the floor and moldy carpeting. Many times I have seen the same paper towel next to a machine for days on end. Now starting to see gang bangers coming in. Staff doesn't care if machines work or not. Some good employees there - friendly when you go in. And some who think being a manager allows them to yack on the phone and ignore people trying to check in. My family will be checking out the other gyms in Encinitas to find one better kept up and without the managers with attitudes!\r
After a bad interaction last night where I would not allow Kaylan (the operations manager) to chew me out because she was on the phone and didn't want to get off to check me in, she actually called me up at work and wanted to chastise me and tell me I had to follow her rules or I couldn't work out there anymore. Ha! I had already joined another gym today that is CLEAN and has OPERATING equipment and did not have a manager with a psychological problem. I told her to stop harassing me and hung up. I noticed that on Yelp and other review sites that people specifically name her as being very bad to deal with.\r
Everywhere you look you see the LA Fitness centers with bad review.\r
There are plenty of other choices in Encinitas!\r
