We have a very expensive pure bred and unusual dog we needed to have groomed. This is a pure bred show dog.
We called to set an appointment and spoke with the gentleman groomer. We explained we wanted a specific cut to this breed and asked he review videos online how to cut this dog. He said he would (in a very condescending way as if he knew it all.)
We waited a week for an appointment. When the dog was dropped off we asked if he had done his ""homework"" to see how to groom this breed. He said he had not.
THEN AND THERE we asked him to review the video online. He said he was busy and he would.
FOUR HOURS LATER we called and he said ""I dont think I can do this, so I washed and combed your dog.""
When we arrived we were HORRIFIED that he had taken our Italian water retriever and groomed it like a Bichon. This is a 20 pound puppy and he ABSOLUTELY BUTCHERED the hair between the dogs eyes (SHAVED IT DOWN) in the video we REPEATEDLY asked (BEGGED) him to watch it SPECIFICALLY STATES not to cut the hair between the eyes as it takes up to a YEAR to grow out and COMPLETELY RUINS the look of the dog.
He didnt cut any other hair and absolutely has RUINED the cut of this $3,000 animal that we purchased to show and breed.
I would NEVER recommend anyone who has any kind of actual show dog to goto this rude and disrespectful groomer.
I am FURIOUS and he was dismissive.
