Beware 2/12/2012

As any business, there will be different experiences. Please do your research and be cautious if you decide to use this practice. First of all, Advanced Reproductive Concepts used to be known as Affordable IVF. My husband and I had a horrible experience with this practice and still dealing with them since 2008. We already had 1 child (conceived naturally) and very eager for a 2nd. After a year of TTC, rather than ""giving it some more time"", we sought the help from ARC. Our intial visit, we met with Dr. Jutras. He asked my husband and I lots of questions then just left the room. His wife, Mary, then walked in and stated that we were finished and directed us to checkout. We were told that the questions that we had could be answered at the next visit. It should have been at that point that we never returned. Instead, we went through 4 months of H**L with them. Rather than doing diagnostic work-up to see if there was even a problem, I automatically started on hormones. I completed agree with previous posts in regards to very unpersonable and rude. I left in tears after each single visit with them for 4 months over how belittling Mary talked to us. They performed an IUI since I was ""super-ovulating"", however, the medication also caused my endometrial lining to become so thin that it could not implant and I SAB (so ""lets try another one""..aka ""we get more money""). We eventually sought a second opinion from another practice. We were informed that nothing was wrong with myself or my husband and the infertility was caused by all of the excessive hormones. I stopped the medication and within 3 months, I conceived naturally. My son was 6 months old...and I conceived again, naturally! I thought that my nightmare with them was over, until recently. I encourage anyone that uses this practice to watch their billing. I had insurance at the time that provided Infertility coverage so I was shocked to learn that I had such a high balance due with them. Thankfully, I kept all of my EOBs from my insurance company. If you are told that your insurance didn't cover something, look into it! I found several visits and procedures that were paid from my insurance company that they were billing me for- ""Duplicate claims"". Also, late fees for claims that they didn't even send to my insurance company until months later. This is insurance fraud! As a medical provider, I am aware of insurance coding as well and was shocked to learn of this UNETHICAL practicing. more
