I have loved to shoot pool since I was a child playing against my dad in our home. So, at 50 cents a game and with readily available tables and challenging opponents at most times, there's not much more I'd ask for. When compared with $8 an hour at the billiards halls--in this economy--there is no comparison.
By my second or third visit, nearly all the regulars know my name and vice versa, so--although It's perfectly appropriate to bring a date for a fun evening--I don't need one if I just want to play.
They serve beer, wine and sodas and--being the warm and friendly place it is--you might encounter a pot-luck or treats in honor of someone's birthday.
