Let me start by saying that originally I had an agreement with another company and these guys show up. Unbeknownst to me, the guy subcontracted me out to these guys without ever telling me. Should have known this was an amateur outfit when this company shows up a half hour late to my house.
There was another car following the limo and found out later that it was the owner (Richard) and he didn?t have the decency to come over and apologize for the lateness. The driver pulls out a contract that states for 8 hours (we agreed to 9 with first company) at $85 an hour plus a 20% tip. Original contract (no they never sent me the original contract, my mistake 1) we agreed on $80 an hour and tip would be based on driver performance. Any overtime would be at $5 more per hour. Of course I call contact 1 and he states ?oh just go ahead and sign and deal with it later.? Of course I?m under duress here because now it?s going on 45 minutes behind schedule and we have to pick up 4 other couples. Really? You expect a 20% tip and we are now 50 minutes late? And not once during the whole trip did you open or close our doors! In what world is that reality that you deserve a 20% tip?
We were promised satellite TV and a kick ass stereo system. TV?s didn?t work along with the stereo. Owner tells me I should have called him when it wasn?t working. I said I told your driver about it and he couldn?t fix it. It?s his obligation to call you, not me. At every stop it took the driver between 10 and 15 minutes to add an address to his GPS. His finger nails were about an inch long and he wonders why he couldn?t press the buttons on the GPS.
Now because we are late we are hitting the San Diego weekend traffic and further delaying picking up my friends. We end up going 4 hours overtime with all the delays and of course partying on our part. On the way home, they pull over on the side of the rode and hold you hostage until you sign their made up contract. We sat there 20 minutes before I just signed the damn thing (hmm..Drunk and under duress..Yea that?s a real contract) so he would take us home.
No disputing the 4 hours overtime. The dispute comes in when they bill me for $1415 instead of $1100. 8 hours at $80?4hours at $85..and I?m being generous by giving the driver $120..That comes to $1100 not $1410. To this day I still have not seen the contract. Richard has to be one of the most classless individuals in the business and gives the rest of the companies a bad name. The Escalade they sent has lots of rode noise and has a cheap looking wood floor. You have been warned if you use these guys. We will be ending up in small claims court over this one.
