I can say two good things about my visits to Dr. Rajalas office in Allen. One being, he is a nice guy, and two being one of his nurses (who initially talked to us about the medical history and such) was the only nurse who we gave a flip about us. The other ones were always in such a rush to get out, but they were never in a rush to get in the room, they didn't explain anything thoroughly. This being my first pregnancy you would expect someone to take the time and explain things to you, but no, not here. I always hated the waits at this office. Waiting for 45 minutes to get a room then 10-30 minutes after that. The first time I started to question this doctor was when me and my fianc? had seen his certificates on the walls. (like any other doctors office would put..) Supposably he was in the military before deciding he was going to be an OB-GYN, well on one certificate it says Bruce W Rajala and on another it says Bruce E Rajala. If that's not weird, then I'm not sure what is... Anyways, another visit, I had a bad itching red rash, I was told it was normal.. But of course he didn't do anything for it. My new doctor was concerned about it. Another 'great experience', I had an appointment at 3PM and then I was called at noon that same day to reschedule.. Like most women, I have a job, and a life, I can't just take off and go to the doctor whenever I please.. Last minute was a little much to push me over the edge. I told the (ALWAYS RUDE) receptionist that I would just go to a different doctor that day bc I had went to the hospital a week before for bleeding in my stomach, and that I knew it was important to get checked out by someone in the OBGYN field. Little did I know she took all my other appointments out of the book too, so of course, I called to question about my future appointments and she was everything but understanding and easy to talk to. I then made the decision to find a new doctor. I did finish out my other two appointments that had to be rescheduled after that mishap. One being a wellness checkup to which my babies heart beat stopped and we couldn't find it, for what felt like an hour, but it wasn't. The nurse never told me that it was normal to lose a heartbeat and that they often stop for a few seconds, so here I am balling my eyes out on the bed with no explanation, not even after my tears.?
Now to the good part, I have a friend who also sees him, she said that he told her she was allowed to drink ""as much wine as she wanted in any trimester.."" I'm not sure which is worse, him saying that or her believing that. I feel guilty enough because he told me I could still tan and get my hair done. And I believed it. I've read on multiple websites that it's unsafe to tan especial in your first trimester because of elevated heat levels in your body. It may cause deformation. That is THE last thing I want to hear when I am talking about my babies health. Great.?
I have switched doctors, my new doctor is Dr. Siri in Carrollton, I highly recommend him. He took time to explain everything to me and my partner. He did all the testing he was supposed to do. (including the down syndrome test that Dr. Rajala never preformed or mentioned..)?
I have been calling for 2 weeks to get Dr. Rajala to send over my medical history papers and all the work that was done on me there. Have they done it?! Of course not. All they care about is getting paid, they're in then out. They have no concern for you or your unborn, innocent child. I can not fathom how he has so many happy patients. Most of them being under the age of 22, if that tells you anything. I myself, and under 22, but I would like to be treated with the up most respect I give others, I'd like to be treated in a timely manner and I would like to have a doctor who genuinely cares. There is nothing else I can do to get my medical papers sent over, and that is killing me and my new doctor. I have never stressed so much, and what a terrible time to do so. I am not a happy mama!
