I have had problems with my back for many years. In spring 2010, I found after sitting at my desk all afternoon, that I was unable to stand or walk without experiencing extremely painful back spasms. The normal day or two of rest did nothing to alleviate the pain. After over a week without being able to walk without assistance, I began physical therapy. I was given progressively more difficult exercises and stretches over a period of 3 weeks. The simple stretches made an immediate improvement in my back pain. At the conclusion of 3 weeks, I am thankful to be greatly improved and look forward to continuing stretches and exercises at home to maintain and improve my back strength.
