Con Artists!!! 2/28/2012

In Seattle, we had a snow storm and my car was hit and needed repairs. The rental agent did some less than pleasant selling tactics to get me to buy the extended insurance policy. Within hours of getting the car the check engine light comes on. I called and to complain and was told that it was no big deal. I told the gentleman that I have a small child and I don't feel safe in the car and requested that he bring a new rental car to my house. He said that was "humanly impossible" and that I would have to stop by. I am basically a single mother (my husband is a Phd student and is gone 14 hours a day) and to support our family I work 2 jobs, with a short break between them, That time is my son's nap time. I explained that I could stop in at 7am or after work at 10:30pm, but that was my only availability during the week. I expressed how unhappy I was to be paying addition insurance on a car that was not in top shape and that I felt unsafe in. I asked about canceling the insurance, and was under the impression that he had canceled it. In the mean time a second warning light has come on (as per the rental agent) I if the car broke down Enterprise would "deal with it." They called me today to authorize an additional deposit. Turns out they had not canceled the deposit. They said I would have to come into to sign for it. I argued with this disrespectful young man for a while and really got no where. I am extremely unhappy to have paid nearly $200 for a policy on a in poor repair. I specifically told them that I felt unsafe driving the car and requested help having a replacement dropped at my house and was told it was "humanly impossible." I am extremely dissatisfied with the transaction, in my mind this is fraud! I will be contacting Washington States Insurance Commissioner. Pros: null Cons: null more
