I had an appointment with Dr. Grear for some ongoing wrist pain I was having. The initial appointment was in October. I had an appointment at 2-230pm and I wasn't seen until about 330-4pm. He did not even look at me, knock on the door or wash his hands. He asked me very quick, yes or no answers. He did a quick exam with my fingers to see if i could resist some pressure. Sent me straight to x-ray. Waited another 20 minutes until he came in and told me i didnt break anything. Then he proceded to tell me what I already knew; that it was probably inflamed. prescribed me an antiflamm med. he didn't diagnose me with anything\r \r came back a month later for a follow up. waited almost 45 minutes after my appt time for him to see me for LITERALLY less than 5 minutes. I timed it on my phone. he came in again no knock, no hand washing. asked how i was doing, if the medicine worked, moved my fingers around and i said it was fine. he sent me on my way. \r \r i just got a billing statement from him and he charged $480 for both visits which accounted for about 30 minutes in total not including wait times. he had known that i was a nursing student so that should tell you right away that i cannot afford much. i'm left paying about $200 of this bill. FOR 30 MINUTES OF EXAM TIME. and not to mention, the poor attention and care he actually gave me. \r \r i have never felt so disregarded in care. it was as if i was just another billing statement. i guess that's true.\r \r the nursing staff is great. the x-ray tech was awesome but the doctor himself was just rude and didn't seem to genuinely care. I'll definitely be considering this experience when I become a nurse. We need our doctors but after this experience I'm starting to realize how horrible some doctors can be. more
