I have had a bad experience with WFUBMC in the early months of my pregnancy. I have recently switched to another practice and wish I had gone with my gut much earlier. The straw that broke the camel's back was when I was smacked with a 350.00 bill for blood work analysis, which was done at the lab at Baptist Hospital. My insurance, Blue Cross Blue Shield, read this as a sign that I was an outpatient at the hospital and it was billed as an outpatient service, even though I had never been to the hospital. Had the blood work been sent to another lab for analysis, it would not have been billed in this manner. Everyone from the billing department to the clinic told me that there was nothing that could be done about this, to which I simply asked, why should I continue service with your practice when it would be billed differently at any other practice in town? I was not an outpatient at the hospital and yet this is what the bill reflects. Furthermore, most good practices with with you and your insurance to give you the best care possible within the constraints set by the insurance...the ""not our problem"" approach was too much and I couldn't continue with them.
