On 8/18/12 I dropped of a necklace pendant for repair. On 10/3/12 while out of town I received a voicemail from a lady it was ready for pick up. On 10/9/12, I received a voicemail from the owner, Quote: ""Do you want us to scrap it for gold or do you want to come in and pick it up. If you don't come and get it by this weekend we'll just go melt it down."" I was astonished. I can't believe someone would call up especially the owner and leave such a voicemail. I immediately called back and the Individual answered. I stated that I couldn't believe the voicemail that I just received. The individual replied, ""Why don't you come and pay your bills and hung up."" It's not like the necklace had been there for an extended period time nor did receive any 2nd nicely spoken reminder. It'd only been a week since the 1st phone call. We were out of town, were previous customers and have always paid. There's no reason for a business to call and speak to their customers in such a threatening and arrogant manner. Took a stone there last year that took them over 3-4 months to replace we were patient and paid immediately. Bay Area Jewelers has lost any of our future business and we would not recommend them to anyone.
