Hi! So I was on an intrastate move and went through a number of offers from moving companies. Decided to go with Principle mainly because of the price and nice customer support operators. We had a bit of a schedule problem and I guess I’m kinda guilty there as well because I changed the date like twice and then they had to move it again because of truck problems… Anyway we came to an agreement and I got some packing materials in advance along with some good advice, both free of charge. They actually offered to pack things for me when they arrive to load the truck but I thought I’ll save time. I got the truck and two guys just about on time (a bit late actually but nothing to get upset about), was apprehensive since they only sent two guys and I thought it would take them forever to take the furniture apart/back together, load/unload the stuff etc. but apparently it only looks like mountain of work to me. Movers were very professional and knew what they were doing. It was like wow, do they ever get tired? Anyway, they got things in really fast though they landed a scratch on the wall in the hallway but that was about it as far as wall damage goes. I heard enough about moving disasters and damages not to be too upset about that + I got compensated (more on that later). So then they drove away and I followed in my car and the whole trip took about an hour and a half which is about what you’d expect taking into account they were driving 26 footer with my stuff in it. I appreciate safe driving on their part. They got unloading at about 5 pm and were done about an hour and a half later with a short break then helped me arrange the furniture. Very cool guys, hard working and professional. I was told by some people on the web that it’s a company ran by Russians or something and that they were rude and didn’t speak English very well and stole things etc. Honestly I don’t know what they were talking about. One guy was as American as they come. He was the one in charge. The other was of some European background but spoke English perfectly and they were both extremely polite and needless to say nothing went missing. I’m writing that off as xenophobic nonsense. The girl on the phone had an accent as well (I don’t know if it’s Russian or what) but she was very helpful and polite as well. So don’t you worry about that. Ok. So we got all the stuff out and around the house. I did get a couple of scratches on the dining table and like a dent on the dresser… I guess these things are unavoidable. They told me to get my phone and take pictures of everything, including that wall scratch. I later e-mailed them to the guys in their office and got compensated for all the damages. That was what I expected since they advertised insurance policy right from the go. So that’s no lie. Anyway table, dresser and wall look as good as new now with a few dabs of compound and a wax stick. Honestly I got more money back then the repairs cost. I was mostly worried about the TV and my drum set but they wrapped that up so tight I don’t think I could damage it if I tried :) Also, I can testify that no hidden charges were applied to me, no surprise taxes or tip extracting or any of that. I was charged in direct accordance to the estimate. All in all I’m taking a star away for the few damages and schedule delay (sorry guys :)) but I do recommend Principle Moving. As far as these things go they do a very good job at reasonable prices and they get you some extra features and assistance. Thumbs up! more
