WORST computer repair experience EVER 1/12/2012

The WORST excuse for a business ever. My computer (a 2 year old HP laptop) began shutting off randomly and then went to not turning on at all. I took it to Norman Computer because I had read online that they were good. I took the computer in at the end of September. They told me it was an update that hadn't been completed, so it seemed to be running fine in the store, paid $39 for the service, and took it home to have it do the same exact thing again. I took it back the next day and they ran some diagnostics on it. The motherboard had failed and it was a $150 part + $50 labor -$39 failed diagnostic = $200. The new part came in, didn't work. By now it is November. I am frustrated because I had an online class that was very difficult to complete when I had no laptop. The new motherboard came in and it still doesn't work. The manufacturer they used will not refund them for the part, therefore, not refunding me for the wasted grand total of $200, 4 months time waiting, and having to purchase a new laptop elsewhere. They NEVER called me back for updates on the thing. I always had to contact them for information about it (the motherboard) being shipped in, worked on, etc. I had to go to the shop several times to ask where the darned laptop was and it was always ""in pieces, sorry"" or ""we are working on it"" or ""oh, we didn't call you?"". Now I can see that they do not know what they're doing. Obviously it is not the motherboard that is wrong, but they can't figure this out! This is why I paid them. I can understand that they have no control on the manufacturer place, but at least have the decency to call your customers back and correctly put the information into the system. I will NEVER do business with them again. They have wasted my time, money, and my patience. more
