A few weeks ago we had a problem with the condensation collection box on our Amana furnace. First, the serviceman began to disconnect the part attached to the collection box when he had no possible way of fixing it without a new part. The collection box was visibly cracked and was leaking. Why take things apart? Secondly, Southport did give me a quote for $469 to repair the furnace. I found a different company to do it for $169. That's a big descrenpancy. The part was $105 and it took an hour of labor to install it. It seems Soutport was more interested in selling me a new furnace than finding me a low cost solution to my problem. It sure didn't take long for Soutport to slap their sticker on the furnace ductwork. I think it's apparent that I am dissatified. The service charge to show up was also $20 more than the company i chose to do the work. I cannot recommend this company.
