We were really satisfied with this dentist, until we opted out of a procedure. We were told, ""you can opt out of any procedure you like, but then you will have to find a new dentist"". hmm...wow, that's a choice.\r
\r
My son was cancelled as a patient because i opted out of sealants on his molars. Now tell me why etching his perfectly good molars with a slight acid so the plastic polymer will stick and seal his molars, in any better THAN THE ENAMEL GOD GAVE HIM THAT'S PERFECTLY FINE.\r
\r
But since Dr. Shea takes Badgercare and he's such a selfless person, it seems he MUST do every procedure that he can bill for, because he just doesn't make enough money. And we should just all be greatful for what he does, because after all, we're poor and on welfare.\r
\r
Really? We're not rich, but we're not stupid. And i am definitely not at the whims of some whitecoat who is thinking more from his pocketbook than how much dental work my child actually needs. \r
\r
oh, i know, when he inherited that business, it was way in debt. He got taken. It seems he's now in the process of ""taking"" everyone else and billing the governement as much as he can. On my son's first appointment, when i requested no fluoride treatment, i was sat down, by the DOCTOR HIMSELF noless, and given the whole spiel and treated like an alternative ""hippy"" mom. huh, i hear hippies in viroqua went to college too?\r
\r
Sealants, with every other dentist, are a true, ""OPTION""...not something mandatory. Is any dental service mandatory? Hey, i thought he was servicing us? \r
\r
Well, it is his business, and it is his choice. But i can let as many people know as possible. Everything will be just peachy while you submit to xray after xray on your child's developing head because apparently they are so necessary (necessary for billing) and other ""optional"" procedures that aren't really optional.\r
\r
If you are a parent who gets involved with your childs health and well being, if you question procedures and want to understand, if you want to minimize fraudulent billing and unnecessary procedures, \r
DO NOT USE THIS DENTAL OFFICE.\r
