I try to visit this deli often when I'm visiting friends who live in Simi Valley. I really enjoy coming here! I grew up in the OC area and live in LA but when we go towards the Camarillo Outlet we always swing by the deli! I've seen some bad reviews on this place and it seems like unwarranted anger towards 1 person, or just plain pettiness. In the past I've had a waitress who was rude, but obviously she isn't there anymore. I didn't go about writing a bad review because of 1 person. Anyhow the old school staff are really friendly and just like some other reviewer said, they have been there a long time. Some reviewer said food was expensive? Not at all. I can see how they would think that especially when all I see in Simi are loads and loads of fast food joints. Reminder: this deli is an actual sit-down place, not a fast food. What I like about here is that everyone remembers you, they remember the usual food you get, and treat you like family. There aren't many places like that anymore. My usual is a bacon avocado omelet or the french dip sandwich with onion rings on the side. Everytime I swing by, I see the local simi cops eating here. It gets busy during lunchtime, but otherwise it's easy to swing by and grab food. Depending on how busy it is the food can take about 10 min since they cook it upon order, but no worries for me. Coming from LA, one of the things that Simi is great for is the parking! Parking here is great since there is a huge lot outside. I heard there were competitors in the town but at the end of the day, customer service is great here and that is what will last you in business. It's unfortunate that the other delis don't exist, but I'm happy to see Simi Deli doing well without any advertising. They are old school but it seems to work with their customer loyalty.
