I recently moved to Queens after completing my residency training in Upstate Albany, NY; I wanted to train and work with someone respected in the law enforcement world, someone calm & level headed and someone that was willing to work with people at all levels. After doing a pretty extensive ""Google Search"" and making some phone calls - I narrowed my selection down to Mayo Academy.
Sensei Sonny Mayo made me feel extremely comfortable. He arranged for us to meet and for me get a good introduction to his school.
I am not in the best of physical shape; However, I feel VERY comfortable & safe and Sensei Mayo is always keeping a close eye. Getting injured is not an option for me in my work; I need my hands. I feel very safe.
I think the best part of Mayo Academy is the amazing and supportive people in my class. They come from all walks of life. They are a very supportive and a lot of fun.
I'm still trying to get control of my hectic schedule; But - things at Mayo Academy are very flexible. Its an added plus that Sensei Mayo and his wife are always keeping an eye out for you. The place is sort of like a family.
I'm hoping to lose some weight and take things a little more seriously in the near future. This is a very conducive and supportive environment for such.
