United Cab offers an online reservation service which allows you to book the date and time you need a cab as well as your pick-up and drop-off locations. You then pay online ahead of time and are offered a 20% discount and you can even add tip so you don't have to worry about saving cash or another payment method later. This seemed like a fantastic idea when we were looking to responsibly get home from a friends wedding celebration the other weekend. We were wrong. They basically take your money and never schedule you a pick-up. We had to call the compnay after our cab was an hour late and our reservation wasn't even in the queue. Then when the cab came the driver basically told us that it's a scam. That the company has you pay ahead online then does not actually schedule a driver for the pick-up. He also said that he's likely not going to get paid as the owner will just keep the money. We really thought this was a fantastic idea at first, we were being responsible and working out the details ahead of time so that we wouldn't have to scramble later. Instead we still had to call to get a pick-up and lucky we did or we'd be out the fare that we had paid ahead! Also -we registered my complaint online witht he company and it's been over two weeks and I've not received a resopnse. Total bummer that left a sour taste in our mouths.
