Life is too short to waste any of it here 9/4/2011

There are no ""course conditions"" that could overcome the arrogance of the staff at the municipal golf courses. But there is definitely prejudicial preference for tee times. I have lived in San Antonio and played golf here since 1968. I have played the Muni's when they were at their peak and followed them in their slow decline finally giving them up in 2000. I was so happy to hear about the changes, improvements to Brack and Willow, and that there may be some golf left in the old courses yet. A groupon discount lured me into giving them another chance. What a waste!!! Dilapidated golf carts, un-raked bunkers, generally poor course conditions, lack of water to drink or refreshment offered on course, non-existent yardage markers, and the torturous rate of play! What a disappointment. Life is too short and there are too many good golf courses in San Antonio to waste a single day with the poor service, poor equipment and poor value of the municipal golf courses. Go to the daily fee courses where your business is appreciated. Try Northern Hills for a great value; Canyon Springs for the experience; Pecan Valley for the history...Save time and money, enjoy life, remember the Alamo and forget the Alamo Golf Trail! more
