We took a chance on this company based on the excellent sales pitch which ultimately proved to be a big mistake.
Essentially what we were told is the following:
1) They use bio-diesel in their trucks ( hence ""green"" van lines)
2) The sales agent recommended us to go to the Government site on movers to check ratings (theirs was a B by the way.) to empower us in our choice.
3) They stated that their movers were professionally trained.
4) They cautioned us to be aware that many moving companies have hidden fees and up charges. A practice that the agent was quite clear in reminding us that her company did not do.
5) We were told that they would give us a courtesy call 48 hours prior to arriving at the pick up and drop off locations, to give us sufficient time to get moving permits if required at either location by the local municipality.
6) We did the research and based on the overwhelming responses from online reviews (mostly good, which tells me how useless they are) we contracted them.
What we got was the following:
1) Another company contracted by Green to move us.
2) A company whose rating on the government site was a complete nightmare.
3) Major damages to both locations by their ""professionally trained staff"" of day laborer's.. (The kind you find standing on the side of the road willing to work for food, and that is in no way an exaggeration.)
4) Additional charges and fees that were exactly the kind we were told to look out for.
5) The original contact from Green was actually just a sales agent, and after selling us a bill of goods, our new contact person was the dispatcher of this other company, who didn't even know the important details of the contract we had with Green.
6) When they arrived at our new home, their ""Professionally trained staff"" complained that there was too much stuff and that they needed to go pick up another worker from another location. So I personally drove to pick up this other worker at the other location, which turned out to be on the side of the road in a random part of town.
My concern is about the other reviews on this site. Are they authentic or just people paid to write a good review? So many good reviews of a company that is guilty of ""Bait and Switch"".
My wife calls it a ""Harrowing"" experience that she just wants to forget. I call it an experience that people need to know about to protect themselves from experiencing the same.
